Our Favorite Holiday

Yep, for those of you who know us, you know that Halloween is by far our favorite holiday ever.

with the exception of this year… at least for me.

the month of Oct. means that the majority of my family becomes incognito working at the Haunted Forest.  They build, decorate, and act, while Matt lights the sets.  Usually it’s a ton of fun..  this year however we were all consumed with thoughts of the baby and very anxious for his arrival.  the commitment to the forest made things pretty tense around here as it meant that I was left with the babies by myself quit often.

Mom went to the pumpkin patch with the  younger ones and we did the pumpkin carving thing as every good parent must. :)

Unfortunately the pumpkin crop this year was not that great. Dad was really not impressed with the children’s selections. Thus granting him a spot on next years trek to the farm.

The older ones are getting pretty good at carving theirs, the little ones, not so much…  I was busy with the baby and Matt is not really into the pumpkin carving scene (thus in some of the pictures you can see him watching TV)  So I gave them some markers and told them to go to town. that still counts, right?

One of the problems with small pumpkins is that you have the potential of getting your hands stuck while getting out all the seeds.
