We added another priesthood holder

June 19th marked an amazing day in our home. My son, Michael was given the Aaronic Priesthood  on his birthday by his father on Fathers day.  What a perfect gift for both him and his father.

A young man prepared

Children’s ldS hymn book.

Though a boy I may appear, Yet a man I soon will be.  If I prepare and live clean in every thought, word and deed, I will be worthy to hold the sacred priesthood of God. So I now prepare myself, I will serve my fellow men.  Being armed with the truth, with the scriptures my guide,

I’ll go forward a young man prepared.

Hard to believe that my baby boy is now holding the Priesthood.  I love watching him pass the sacrament and sit up with the bishopric, but I definitely feel his absence in our pew.  There is this nagging feeling of someone missing and I keep having to do head count.

He is becoming an amazing young man and I am excited to see the things that await him in his life, but not too soon.

this is also one of his big birthday years and he had planned a party at Lazer Quest with all of his friends, however, the day of we had an apt with the chiropractor who did not have good news for us.

A week before, Mike had fallen of his scooter and landed with both arms locked and extended. He had been experiencing mild pain ever since but nothing major. We took him to the chiro the day after but the swelling was too big to come to any conclusions.  that Monday, Doc said it was most likely badly fractured or broken and took x-rays.  Sure enough both ulna’s were severely fractured, very close to a break and were displaced.  Instead of holding his party we went to the orthopedic who proceeded to cast both his arms.  Fun times!!

A week after he was casted he was walking on the trails near our home and was bitten on the thigh by a random dog.

Each of the teeth punctured and Mike had not had a tetanus shot as of yet.  Of course this happened at 5 something on a Sat when all of the Urgent Cares were closed.  So it was a trip to the ER.  Did  I mention how much fun we were having?

This pic was six days after he was bitten and it looks much better than it actually did.

Anyhow, it has been quit the summer for the boy.  He has handled it all with amazing calm and peace.  So very proud of him.
