I think I have mentioned in prior post, prior years , that the 4th of July is by far my favorite holiday, but it bears repeating. I love… no I adore the 4th of July!
This year we headed down to Ocean shores. Once again we stayed at a KM resort. They had great activities, the kids really enjoyed the cupcake decorating.
daddy and K really enjoyed their quiet time.
I love this picture of T.J. That little boy is just too dang cute for his own good.
We were camped right next to the playground (again) so you can guess where the kids spent the majority of their time. With the exception of Seri and her friend who spent their time playing pool in the clubhouse.
This seemed to be their favorite game. see how many people we can jam onto the slide before we all fall off. Apparently we forgot to inform Mike that he did have two broken arms already, lest he try to exasperate the situation.
My favorite shot of baby Kaden.
Kaden really enjoys camping also. He loves play time with his brother and is getting really good at standing. So dang cute, he usually claps for himself when he stands. So glad he has such a good self esteem.
Actually he just claps for himself all the time. Can’t blame him. He does have the biggest fan club around.
On the 4th, we headed to the beach to start our own little bonfire. However when we arrived we saw that some friends of ours had started a real bonfire, meaning a bonfire about as tall as I am. They invited us over and we basked in the glow of a huge fire while watching the kids run amok and watching a great firework show down the beach a ways from us. Perfect, that’s what it was.
This was taken after the teepee portion of the bonfire fell.
As if there wasn’t enough wood on that fire, the guys kept bringing in more.
The only down fall to this vacation was that we left behind our family tent. My mother had bought it when i was a teen ager and when we got married she gave it to us. It has been with us on every single one of our camping trips and has served us well. As you can see, there was no way the tent was going up again. It has been missing some poles and is now so sheer that you can see through the walls. RIP Olson tent, you brought us much pleasure.
