Seri and I had an opportunity a while back to work out at the Northwest Harvest factory in Kent. We processed over 3,000 pounds of carrots!!!!
The carrots came out this shoot and the sound was like a very rhythmic gun shot. They provided really cool earplugs, the noise was so loud. It was funny though, because after awhile you would notice everyone kind of moving to the beat.
The carrots came down and then they were bagged.
After they were bagged they went to this station to be tied off.
Ser and I were at the boxing station. Our job was to make the boxes, tape them stamp them and stack them. Gets kind of boring after three hours though.
The bagged carrots are then boxed,
checked and weighed,
and then stacked on pallets and off to local food banks.
A truly remarkable experience that I am glad I was able to share with her. WE look forward to doing it again and all are invited to come with us!
