72 hour kits

For FHE this week we prepared our 72 hr. kits.  this is something I have wanted to do for awhile now and recently I have joined an emergency preparedness group that has inspired me to get these things done now rather than later.  So, we gathered the children and discussed what kinds of things we would need and other things.  We then separated the food out and placed it in our bags and then put those in our individual backpacks.

Now that the food is taken care of we will focus on adding clothing, first aid, water, ID cards, hygiene bags, and small bills in each bag so that we are fully prepared to care for ourselves for at least 72 hours should a situation demand it.

Here's to being prepared!!!!!

Oh, Boy! I have been trying to do ours for years! I too joined the group and thanks the Amy and Marcy I now have almost all the food for ours but still have to add canned and the rest of what you said. BRAVO for getting a head start! Now, you got to plan for the 2 cars next! I guess your supposed to have them for your house and each car. LOL Good luck!!
