She's gone and grown up on us.

Seri is officially a "tween". Yep, she's twelve and I am amazed at how fast she is maturing. All of the sudden she is in her room a ton, just reading or crocheting, doing suduko or something, but half the time she doesn't even want to come out and watch a movie with us. What's up with that? We have always watched movies together! There are so many other things that show she has moved up a notch.
Anyhow for her birthday we went to the Rain Forest Cafe. Sariah was sooo very funny to watch. She sat with Daddy almost the whole time.
Next we took Ser, her cousin Alex and her friend Sam to the mariners game. It was so interesting to listen to them talk in the back of the van. They were even playing MASH, you know the old game we used to play where you pick four guys, four numbers, and four vehicles then draw a spiral and that will tell you wich one you marry, how many kids you have, what vehicle you will drive and where you will live. I couldn't believe it. We had a great time though. The Mariners even beat the Twins 3-2.

We had her birthday party the next night and had eight kids over. We took them all to see "Kung Fu Panda" and then came back to our house for pizza and cake. I had bought Hanes t=shirts for them all to decorate with puffy paint and asked everyone to sign Seri's shirt so she would have a memento.
Sam came over and wrote his name in pretty big letters, then the third member of the "Three Amigos", Brendan, came over and drew a circle. He then proceeded to draw an arrow to the circle and write "Property Of Brendan". Later when I asked Seri what was up with that she brought her hand across the area under her chest and said "mom, as long as that circle is below this line I don't care". It was hilarious and all the adults then cracked up laughing.
The next day it was off to Wild Waves. We had a great time and I thought that only in Washington would a water park be full of people in the water while it was 63 degrees and completely covered in clouds the whole day.

Happy Birthday Seri!!! Sounds like you guys had a great time as always! We miss you, I'm so homesick for WA!

It would be hard to watch your child change so much, but she's such a good kid, I don't think she'll ever change for the worse-just different. Her comment about the circle on the shirt was hysterical-I laughed outloud. I can't believe you adults were willing to go to wildwaves on such a not-summer day. Washington is really not to be depended on for great summer activities! But kids really don't care, do they?
