Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets
In midnights, in cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter and in strife
In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure, a year in the life?
A year, hard to believe that it has been more than a year since my last post on this blog… Time has moved so quickly and there have been so many changes in the dynamics of our home. It hardly resembles the family that lived here a little more than a year ago.
Over the next few days I will attempt to recap in an effort to preserve those moments that I know my flakey brain will soon forget.
After having braces for nearly three years Seri finally got them off. They are not perfect because she has always been horrible about remembering to wear her bands, but the ortho says they are as good as they are going to get if she isn’t going to wear the bands, which at this point we have given up hope on.
When braces came off one child we just rolled the payment into the next child. Fortunately Mikes are just for cosmetic spacing , which means they are a lot cheaper and he will only have them on for a little more than a year. I think I am beginning to see a pattern here that will last for the next decade or so.
Serenitie is finally licensed and mom is greatly relieved because now not only can she drive her and her brother to seminary at 5:45 each morning so that I don’t have to, but she can also run to the store and chauffer various siblings to various activities so that I don’t have to :)
Ser was accepted into NASA’s Women in Science STEM project and spent the last half of the year in intense study under the mentoring of women currently working for NASA. It turned out to be a challenge for her as she is used to things coming to her easily and this actually made her work and think on a deeper level.
Mike continues to dance with Pacific Ballroom dance company and lives and breathes to dance.
He has made some amazing friends and has truly grown and matured into a great young man whom we are very proud of.
This year he achieved his goal of making it on to the Premier team which is a lot more of a commitment, but he is meeting the challenge and excelling.
