Lady in waiting

I have always wanted to have belly pictures taken to document the most important periods of my life, those times when I created and sustained life within me.  However my vanity usually got in the way.

You see, I don’t have the cute belly bump that I envy on other women.  The one where it is a perfectly round sphere so cute and apparent. Nope mine is more like a large mass of…… Yeah well, you get the point.

this hasn’t stopped me from admiring pictures of pregnant bellies and thinking that maybe some day I would have the courage….  Forget the courage, I really want the pic to look on fondly and remember.

So, with this possibly being the last (hey, you never know) I threw caution to the wind and did all the things I have watched and envied other pregnant ladies doing.

I got a beautiful Henna put on which I truly loved.  Now that it has worn off I can honestly say that I miss it…

I had the cute belly pics taken.  I adore these pics because for me they truly embody our family and the excitement we feel at welcoming a new little one into the world.

Matt and I also made a belly cast which was an interesting and fun process.

Yep. This time I did all the things that I have always wanted to and I know that I will always be grateful that I have these mementos of this amazing time.

Good for you! I say throw caution, vanity, and what others say to the wind. You will be so glad you did this. What a beautiful thing!
