Folk life festival

Each memorial day weekend the Seattle Center hosts a huge folklife festival. We Were there as they were setting up and decided to spend a day there this weekend. We also found a letterbox there. There were so many people that at times it was scary trying to make sure we always had each of the children with us. Seri wanted to try a real coconut. It didn't last long as none of the children really like the milk or the inside pulp. Good thing we don't live in a tropical location.

It was very hard to get from one place to the other because of all the people. Then we saw this parade of Stilt Walkers come through and found that if you followed in their wake you could get pretty far without being hindered. I was so glad that we did not take the stroller, it would have been a nightmare.

There were a ton of street performers and Isaac was really enchanted with this one. She stood as a statue until someone put money in her basket and then she would move a little if it was change or a lot if it was a bill. Isaac just loved watching her and would get the cutest look on his face. Pretty soon people were handing him money to put in the basket just to see his reaction. Someone passed out fake money and advertisement or something and the children soon figured that they could put that in her basket to get her to move. she must have been dissapointed to find it at the end of the day. sorry....

A look at one of the less crowded picnic spaces.

There was a circus school there so the children got to try the tightrope, juggling, and the trapeze. This poor guy had to work with Isaac forever because for some reason he did not understand that his legs needed to be in front of the bar instead of behind.

Seri was quite efficient at the trapeze, go figure....

Michael discovered Boccie ball and found that he was really good at it. He played for quiet awhile, we may have to get him a set. Here Michael and Isaac are playing while Daddy and Sariah look on.
